Trying To Find The Fastest

Thoroughbred is a breed of horses best known for its use in horse racing. These horses have jockeys ride on the their backs during a race as opposed to those that run pulling small carts. The breed today can trace its ancestry to three stallions: the Byerley Turk, the Darley Arabian and the Godolphin Arabian. These three horses were bred to English mares in the 17th and 18th centuries. The result are horses with long, slender legs known for their speed and spirited temperment. The enjoyment people have experienced breeding, training and watching these animals perform have made them some of the most valuable animals on Earth.
