What Is A Stenographer?

A Stenographer transcribes verbal communications from recordings using certain forms of shorthand. Stenographers are usually used for legal settings and are also used in high profile business meetings to prepare written records.

Stenographers can also work in courtrooms as a court reporter. In the courtroom, a stenographer is used to transcribe all arguments and testimonies that are given in the court room. Stenographers also transcribe the courts rulings. Court stenographers must be very accurate and very detailed in the information that they transcribe.

Stenographers often make a recording of the proceedings so they can go back and compare it to what they transcribed on paper. This is done so that they can correct any errors that may have occurred in any of the transcribing that was done in the courtroom. More info: Stenographer Las Vegas
